Earthquakes Lose to Toreros, 4-2
|
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros grabbed a 4-2 win over the San Francisco Earthquakes at Golden Gate Park. Cabo San Lucas catcher Dae-ki Yi was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. Ju-ao Ru was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 10 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Losses have been few and far between for the Earthquakes so far this season. Their record drops to 2-1.
The Toreros got a big at-bat from left fielder Gart Rook. For the game, Rook was 2-4 with 2 singles. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 4th hit of the season gave Cabo San Lucas a 3-2 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Rook told the Cabo San Lucas Daily.
