Billings starter Cris Ayala pitched effectively against the Peoria Caterpillars at Excavatar Park. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. The Mustangs bumped their record to 91-62 with this latest triumph.

The Mustangs got a big at-bat from catcher Oscar Mayes. For the game, Mayes hit 2 home runs. In the top of the tenth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 28th home run of the season gave Billings a 3-2 lead.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Ayala.
