Victory Pushes Marauders Record to 17-16
|
The Bloomington Blazers got a superb performance from pitcher Landy Lu. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Maple. The Marauders won the game, 7-1. In spite of the loss, Lu was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Maple reliever Marcos León was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Landy Lu took the loss for Bloomington. The Marauders bumped their record to 17-16 with this latest triumph.
The Marauders got a big at-bat from third baseman Jorge Zamora. For the game, Zamora was 1-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Maple a 2-1 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Maple manager Jesús Alfaro.
