Victory Pushes Racers Record to 85-67
|
The Bowling Green Racers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Luis Rodríguez, who muffled the Reno offense en route to a tight 3-0 Racers win at Top of the Hill. The winning pitcher was Rodríguez, now 9-5. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. The Racers bumped their record to 85-67 with this latest triumph.
In the top of the ninth, Matt Miller stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Rockets were trailing 3-0, but had the bases loaded. That's when Nelson Cardona made a terrific pitch and Miller flied out. Gone was the dream of a Reno comeback.
