Raiders Fall to Gruzmán, Fireballs
Joplin second baseman Juan Gruzmán made his presence felt in the 9-3 Fireballs triumph over the Reno Raiders. Gruzmán went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The Fireballs bumped their record to 86-64 with this latest triumph.

The Fireballs got a big at-bat from catcher Johnny Burt. For the game, Burt went 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 134th hit of the season gave Joplin a 2-0 lead.
