Flash Topple Baristas with Late Rally
|
Fairfield shortstop Ian Cutter was instrumental in his team's 5-4 win over the Silver Lake Baristas. Cutter went 3-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Flash. Fairfield reliever Bernard Coste picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Kenny Moran absorbed the loss. The Flash saw their win-loss record go to 69-82. At the same time, the Baristas fell to 72-79.
The Flash got a big at-bat from designated hitter Pablo Bermúdez. For the game, Bermúdez was 1-5 with a double. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Fairfield a 5-4 lead.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Cutter.
