Raptors Fall Short, 5-4, at Reno
|
The Reno Raiders scored a 5-4 win versus the Omaha Raptors at House of Pain. Reno pitcher Eduardo Marino nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Andy Jones, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Omaha has now lost 4 consecutive games.
Had Charlie Hide not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hide hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Raiders.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Hide. "And not try to do too much."
