Paczkis Take Nail-Biter Over Phantoms
|
The Canton Paczkis relied on the hitting of first baseman Jesús Ortíz to stop the Coronado Phantoms, 6-5. For the game, Ortíz went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Paczkis improved to 65-85.
Canton won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Jamie Morgan on the mound for Coronado, pinch hitter Juan Politti hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Paczkis fans to their feet.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ortíz. "And not try to do too much."
