Victory Pushes Rockets Record to 80-69
|
The Fairfield Flash got a sterling performance from designated hitter Jorge Ramírez, but the Rockets still prevailed, 5-3. Ramírez was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Rockets bumped their record to 80-69 with this latest triumph.
The Rockets got a big at-bat from right fielder Matt Miller. For the game, Miller was 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 70th hit of the season gave Reno a 3-1 lead.
Miller told a Reno News reporter that he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
