The Reno Raiders defeated the Bronx Bombers, 5-2, in Darryl Kile League action at Bronx Ballpark, with Reno right fielder Ken Donovan named player of the game. Maurice Bignold picked up the win, improving his season record to 9-11. He struck out 4 in 6 innings. With the win, Reno goes to 62-84, while the Bombers fall to 57-91.

Donovan had a key at-bat for Reno early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and gave Reno an early 2-0 lead.

"Enjoyed this one," Donovan told the Reno News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
