Espanola got a terrific performance from pitcher Danny Loftis, but it wasn't enough to beat the Fort Worth Cats. Fort Worth won the LaGrave Field contest, 5-2. Loftis was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. Everton Mailes, credited with the save, is now 29 for 34 in save opportunities. The Cats bumped their record to 79-66 with this latest triumph.

The Cats got a big at-bat from right fielder Curt Kline. For the game, Kline was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 21st double of the season gave Fort Worth a 3-1 lead.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Kline.
