Yaichiro Tamura never let Bowling Green get something going. The Minneapolis left-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Freeze to a 1-0 win. Minneapolis reliever Bryan Blashill picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Hidetada Abe absorbed the loss. Minneapolis has now won 4 straight.

Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out and a runner on 2nd, the batter, Matt Taylor, hit a single. It helped Minneapolis seize the win.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Taylor. "And not try to do too much."
