Raiders Win at Fairfield, 4-0
|
Reno starter Maurice Bignold put a stranglehold on the Fairfield offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Raiders to a 4-0 win. Bignold went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 8-11. Reno is now 59-82.
The Raiders got a big at-bat from center fielder Mike Brockett. For the game, Brockett went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Reno a 1-0 lead.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Brockett.
