Cats Win at Calgary, 7-5
|
The Fort Worth Cats topped the Calgary Kodiaks, 7-5, with youngster John Bloom playing a key role. Bloom was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 4 runs for the Cats in the win. Fort Worth reliever Callum Butler picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Alfredo Crespo shouldered the loss. Hulusi Mumcu was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 3 save opportunities.
Bloom had a game-changing single in the top of the sixth. On a 3-1 cutter from James Woodard, he banged a 2-run single to right, giving the Cats a 6-4 lead. It was the 50th hit of the year for Bloom.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Bloom said.
With the win, Fort Worth has a record of 77-64. Calgary falls to 63-78.
