The Billings Mustangs topped the Silver Lake Baristas, 7-1, with youngster Bill St.john playing a key role. St.john was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Mustangs in the win. Ian Portz picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-2. He struck out 10 in 9 innings. The Mustangs bumped their record to 81-58 with this latest triumph.

St.john contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Billings in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, St.john took a slider from Carl Veeck and stroked the home run to left. His 23rd home run of the season allowed the Mustangs to leap in front, 3-1.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said St.john.
