Baristas Come Back Late, Nip Mustangs
|
Silver Lake withstood an impressive performance by Billings center fielder Luis Reyes to defeat the Mustangs, 5-4, at Cobb Field. Reyes was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jesús Tobías, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Kenny Moran converted his 3rd save in 3 tries.
The Baristas got a big at-bat from first baseman Jon Miron. For the game, Miron went 1-5, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 125th hit of the season gave Silver Lake a 5-4 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Miron.
With the victory, the Baristas record now stands at 68-72.
