Fairfield first baseman John Pinnock had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-4, to Fort Worth at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Pinnock was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Fort Worth reliever Hulusi Mumcu picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Paul Calamy took the loss. The Cats, now 75-62, have won 4 in a row.

The Cats got a big at-bat from center fielder David Huguet. For the game, Huguet was 1 for 2 with a home run. In the top of the 11th, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Fort Worth a 5-4 lead.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Fort Worth manager Walt Dobson.
