|
Detroit Death Stars starter Hector Valencia was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Bronx Bombers, 4-2. Valencia went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 6, and struck out 2. His record improves to 1-0. The Death Stars bumped their record to 73-64 with this latest triumph.
The Death Stars got a big at-bat from right fielder Danilo Cannavaro. For the game, Cannavaro was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 21st home run of the season gave Detroit a 3-2 lead.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Cannavaro said after the game.
