Suzuki Helps Coal Miners Run Win Streak to 4
|
The Antioch Coal Miners defeated the Pasadena Bumblebees, 9-1, in Darryl Kile League action at The Coal Mine, with Antioch left fielder Tatsuhito Suzuki named player of the game. Alejandro Ortega, who went 9 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 13. His record now stands at 7-5. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Coal Miners.
Suzuki had a key at-bat for Antioch early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and gave Antioch an early 2-0 lead.
