Joplin and Calgary duked it out at Foothills Stadium and the Fireballs came out victorious.

Calgary second baseman David Fanelli was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Joplin beat the Kodiaks, 10-7. Fanelli was named the player of the game despite the loss. The Fireballs, at 78-57, have now won 4 straight.

Kenny Butler's at-bat in the top of the third inning was a big one for Joplin. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Joplin leading 2-0, the shortstop hit a 2-run single.

Butler told a Joplin Bulletin reporter that he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
