Victory Pushes Mustangs Record to 77-55
|
The Billings Mustangs relied on the hitting of catcher Oscar Mayes to stop the Detroit Death Stars, 7-5. For the game, Mayes went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Tony Varela earned his 3rd save in 4 chances. The Mustangs bumped their record to 77-55 with this latest triumph.
The Mustangs got a big at-bat from second baseman Mike Pope. For the game, Pope was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 25th double of the season gave Billings a 7-5 lead.
