The New England Colonials got a good effort from starter John Spracklin in defeating the Cabo San Lucas Toreros at Field de Los Layendas. The final score was 3-0. Spracklin, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. The save went to Juan Vázquez, his 7th this season.

New England used the bat of Edgardo Bustamante to get the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Colonials ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Spracklin told the New England Bulletin.

The Toreros fall to 11-17 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.
