The Fort Worth Cats got a stellar performance from pitcher Sumitomo Kondo, who handcuffed the Silver Lake offense en route to a 3-2 win at Ashton Gate. The Cats bumped their record to 72-62 with this latest triumph.

The Cats got a big at-bat from catcher John Bloom. For the game, Bloom was 3 for 6 with 2 doubles. In the top of the 14th, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 17th double of the season gave Fort Worth a 3-2 lead.

"We had a chance to win," said Silver Lake manager Diego Aguirre, "but we didn't get it done."
