Victory Pushes Racers Record to 74-61
|
Fans who came to Stars Field watched the Bowling Green Racers and the Indian Wells Aeropostales fight to the finish.
The Bowling Green Racers topped the Indian Wells Aeropostales, 3-2, with youngster Juan Pérez playing a key role. Pérez was 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times for the Racers in the win. The winner was Bowling Green reliever Masamichi Takeda, now 9-6. The loser was Héctor Bello.
Manuel Guzmán, who is tied for 10th in the NAL in triples with 4, aided the Bowling Green cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop drew 1 walk.
Indian Wells manager Mario Perez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The Racers, at 74-61, lead by one game in their division.
