The Canton Paczkis got a superb performance from first baseman Jesús Ortíz, but the Bronx Bombers still won the game, 9-8. Ortíz was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Bronx now sits at 50-83, while Canton falls to 57-76.

Late-game drama came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Bradley Wolfe, hit a single. It helped Bronx seize the win.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Wolfe, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
