Racers Get Close Win Over Mustangs
The Bowling Green Racers took Billings pitcher Ian Portz's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Top of the Hill. The final score had Bowling Green getting past the Mustangs, 1-0. Portz went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 7. Tony Nájera picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Ian Portz was tagged with the loss. The Racers bumped their record to 72-61 with this latest triumph.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when catcher Griffin Roberge hit a single. The Racers went on to win.

"Both teams played hard," said Bowling Green manager Jorge Magana.
