Fairfield overcame a superlative game from Bruce Patterson to beat Calgary, 4-3. The Calgary pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Hirotada Nan picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Armando Medina was tagged with the loss. The Kodiaks, now 58-72, have lost 5 straight.

The Flash got a big at-bat from catcher Jorge Escobedo. For the game, Escobedo was 2-6 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the 13th, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 56th hit of the season gave Fairfield a 4-3 lead.
