Phantoms Sneak Past Raptors, 5-4

Anchorage Municipal Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Coronado Phantoms and the Omaha Raptors.
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Pete Bauer, the Coronado Phantoms defeated the Omaha Raptors, 5-4. Bauer went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Phantoms. The win was credited to Roberto Mejía in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jason Engel took the loss. Jamie Morgan saved it for Coronado.
Bauer had a game-changing single in the top of the ninth. On a 2-0 fastball from Jason Engel, he banged a run-scoring single to left, giving the Phantoms a 5-4 lead. It was the 94th hit of the year for Bauer.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Coronado manager Jeffrey Graham.
The last-place Raptors have dropped 4 straight games.
