Bronx got a terrific performance from first baseman Henry Amesbury, but it wasn't enough to beat the Silver Lake Baristas. Silver Lake won the Bronx Ballpark contest, 6-5. Amesbury was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Silver Lake reliever Qing-lai Juan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Maurice Oakley took the loss. Bhanuratha Vaithu got the save, his 17th in 21 chances.
Kevin Howard chipped in for Silver Lake with a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Howard said after the game.
At 61-66, Silver Lake is in 4th place in the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division.
