McFarland Hits 2 home runs in Coal Miners Win
|
Scott McFarland added some punch to the Antioch offense, helping them outmuscle the Albuquerque Cacti, 12-8. In the game, McFarland, who is tied for 8th in the DKL with a .409 on-base percentage, went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Yeong-suk Kim was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 10 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Edgardo Sáenz got the save, his 12th in 14 chances.
John Johnson, who leads the DKL in RBI with 101, chipped in for Antioch with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 5 runs batted in.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said McFarland.
The first-place Coal Miners have won 6 straight games.
