Kodiaks Bang Out 11-5 Win Versus Billings
|
Benefiting from Colin Carpenter's productive game, the Calgary Kodiaks downed the Billings Mustangs, 11-5. Carpenter went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Kodiaks. The winner was Calgary reliever Bruce Patterson, now 4-1. The loser was Luis Sánchez. The second-place Mustangs have dropped 5 straight games.
In the top of the seventh, Pedro Pérez stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Mustangs were trailing 11-5, but had the bases loaded. That's when Bruce Patterson made a terrific pitch and Pérez struck out. Gone was the dream of a Billings comeback.
