Canadians Win at Albuquerque, 6-1
|
Spirited fans at Albuquerque Sports Stadium greeted the Albuquerque Cacti for their clash with the Vancouver Canadians.
The Vancouver Canadians got a stellar performance from pitcher Rolf Pals, who handcuffed the Albuquerque offense en route to a 6-1 win at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. In 7 innings, Pals surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run.
The Canadians got a big at-bat from shortstop Matthew Bauer. For the game, Bauer was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Vancouver a 2-0 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," Pals told the Vancouver News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
The 'W' lifts Vancouver's record to 54-72.
