|
Detroit center fielder Curt Sweet had a good game, even if his team did not. The Death Stars dropped a 4-2 decision to Omaha at The Death Star. Sweet went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Andrés Hernández got the win, improving to 7-10. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. The Raptors go to 46-77, putting them last in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the second inning. That's when first baseman Tom Bailey hit a single. The Raptors went on to win.
"We take it day by day here," said Bailey, "and today was a good one for us."
