The Astoria Argonauts got a rain-soaked win over the Bronx Bombers at Golden Fleece Park.

The Astoria Argonauts grabbed a 9-5 win over the Bronx Bombers at Golden Fleece Park. Astoria catcher Yaichiro Yokoyama went 2-3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Jalen Mitchelle got the save, his 5th in 7 chances.

The Argonauts got a big at-bat from designated hitter Roberto Torres. For the game, Torres was 1-4 with a double and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 20th double of the season gave Astoria a 3-2 lead.

"We take it day by day here," said Torres, "and today was a good one for us."

The Argonauts bumped their record to 68-57 with this latest triumph.
