The Coronado Phantoms knocked off the Albuquerque Cacti, 6-3, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Jamie DeWoody, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Coronado won. The third baseman was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jose Rodriguez picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 4-1. Taylor Longbottom notched his 16th save in 18 chances.

DeWoody had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Dan Thompson, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Phantoms a 6-2 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for DeWoody.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," DeWoody told the Coronado Daily.

The Phantoms bumped their record to 64-56 with this latest triumph.
