The Antioch Coal Miners defeated the Peoria Caterpillars, 6-3. Earning player of the game honors was third baseman Ichizo Hamada, who went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Antioch has an impressive 81-40 record.

With Antioch trailing 2-0 in the top of the second, Hamada hit a fastball from Morihiro Hashimoto for a run-scoring double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Coal Miners ahead, 2-1.
