Freeze Win at Detroit, 4-3
|
The Minneapolis Freeze topped the Detroit Death Stars by the score of 4-3, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Wang Huang. Huang went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for the Freeze. Rodolfo Reyes got the save, his 17th in 21 chances. The Freeze bumped their record to 63-57 with this latest triumph.
Huang had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 cutter from Les van Kleef, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Freeze a 4-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Huang.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Detroit manager Loren Garrison.
