Losing Streak Continues for Titans with 7-5 Loss to Baristas
|
Chicago got a terrific performance from second baseman Norishige Iwamoto, but it wasn't enough to beat the Silver Lake Baristas. Silver Lake won the Ashton Gate contest, 7-5. Iwamoto was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Van Perry was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Bhanuratha Vaithu got the save, his 15th in 18 chances.
Jon Miron, who is tied for 10th in the NAL in bases on balls with 55, aided the Silver Lake cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Miron told the Silver Lake Daily News.
The 4th-place Baristas have won 4 in a row.
