Reno and Joplin played a hard-fought contest at The Firepit.
The Raiders had to overcome a fine performance from Joplin pitcher Jacob Willard to grab a 3-2 win at The Firepit. Willard allowed 2 earned runs over 8 innings. José López picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. Hiroo Okimura was tagged with the loss. Jay Casbeer notched his 4th save in 4 chances.
Ramón Dolit made it 3-2, Reno, in the top of the ninth when he hit a sacrifice fly. It was a big at-bat in the Raiders win.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Joplin skipper Chance Jackson.
Reno is now 51-65, Joplin 70-47.
