Martínez 'Lights Out' in Pasadena Win
Pitcher Ramón Martínez was sensational for the Pasadena Bumblebees in his team's 1-0 triumph over the Detroit Death Stars. Martínez received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Vince Johnson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 9 save opportunities. Pasadena now sits in 5th place in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division at 43-74.

Martínez ran roughshod over the Detroit lineup. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 12. With the victory, he goes to 1-1 on the season.

"I liked his command," said Pasadena manager Ramón Rosário. "Ramón was throwing strikes."
