Okuda Goes Wild, But Flash Win
Despite a great performance by Silver Lake right fielder Toshikasu Okuda, the Fairfield Flash defeated the Baristas by the score of 10-8 at Ashton Gate. Okuda was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Paul Calamy was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 11 save opportunities. Fairfield is 54-60 and Silver Lake, with the loss, 53-61.

Fairfield needed the clutch hitting of Susumu Kono to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Flash on top, 8-5. For the game, Kono had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Kono said.
