Loss Extends Chicago Losing Streak
|
The War Dome was the site of a competitive game between the Chicago Titans and Bowling Green Racers.
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Marshall Dempsey, the Chicago Titans suffered a 4-2 loss to the Bowling Green Racers. Dempsey hit 2 home runs. Bowling Green starter Cristoforo Giugino was credited with the win after throwing 79 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 8-1. Nelson Cardona notched his 7th save in 7 chances.
Hervé Cohen aided the Bowling Green cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman drew 2 walks.
After the game, Bowling Green manager Jorge Magana applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The 5th-place Titans have lost 7 consecutive games.
