Bowling Green starter Alain Picard put a stranglehold on the Vancouver offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Racers to a 8-0 win. In 6.1 innings, Picard surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. The Racers bumped their record to 60-53 with this latest triumph.

The Bowling Green dugout showed signs of unrest at times. But the Racers put this one in the win column with some good pitching and some timely hitting at critical moments.
