The Coronado Phantoms powered past the Espanola Bomberos, 8-6, at Phantoms Field. Sweet Spanker went 1 for 1 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3, to lead the charge. The winner was Coronado reliever Layne Farmer, now 2-0. The loser was Eduardo Muniz. The Phantoms bumped their record to 57-53 with this latest triumph.

Spanker contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Coronado in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 6-4, Spanker took a changeup from Eduardo Muniz and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Phantoms to leap in front, 7-6.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Spanker.
