Bombers Continue Skid Thanks to Appel, Fireballs
The Joplin Fireballs defeated the Bronx Bombers, 5-4, in Darryl Kile League action at The Firepit, with Joplin designated hitter Shane Appel named player of the game. Bronx has now lost 6 in a row.

Toby Chave aided the Joplin cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the pinch hitter drove in one run.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Bronx manager Carl Smith.
