Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at The Rubber Grounds.

The San Francisco Earthquakes topped the Rubber City Rhinos, 5-4, in Thurman Munson League action at The Rubber Grounds. The player of the game was San Francisco first baseman Juan López. The win was Kyung-hwan Ho's in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Shinzo Sasaki took the loss for Rubber City.

López had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch fastball from Shinzo Sasaki, he banged a solo home run to center, giving the Earthquakes a 5-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for López.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said López. "And not try to do too much."

San Francisco is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 9th win in 26 games.
