Mustangs Come Back Late to Top Fireballs
|
The Billings Mustangs got a good effort from starter Ian Portz in defeating the Joplin Fireballs at Cobb Field. The final score was 3-2. The Mustangs bumped their record to 61-44 with this latest triumph.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 2nd and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Bill St.john, who is tied for 9th in the DKL with a .404 on-base percentage, hit a single. The Mustangs went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort," said St.john after the game.
