The Fort Worth Cats had no problem beating the Reno Rockets, 11-2, at LaGrave Field. Shunen Kato led the way. He was 3-5 with 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Fort Worth. The Cats bumped their record to 58-49 with this latest triumph.

The Cats had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 4-1, Fort Worth, with one out. Reno, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Alejandro Hernández dug in at the plate, but on a 2-1 slider, he flied out.
