The Espanola Bomberos and Indian Wells Aeropostales completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Espanola Bomberos dealt the Indian Wells Aeropostales a 3-2 loss at Casa de Fuego. Wiley Atherton was the star on offense. He was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. The win was credited to Aubert Licci in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Kevin Spurr took the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Espanola second baseman Jerry Munoz, facing Kevin Spurr, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bomberos the 3-2 win.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Munoz.
The Bomberos bumped their record to 58-50 with this latest triumph.
