The Joplin Fireballs topped the Billings Mustangs, 9-2, in Darryl Kile League action at Cobb Field. The player of the game was Joplin pitcher and Stockton, California native David Myers. Joplin is now 64-42, 5½ games up in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division.

Joplin used the timely hitting of Juan Gruzmán to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Fireballs on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We've got a great group of guys," Myers said, "and we're having fun right now."
